Hui-Ling Chen sees Canada’s Niagra Falls for the first time!

On a two week motorcycle trip to Canada in the summer of 2011,

Hui-Ling Chen a native of Shanghai, China and myself (her husband) an American citizen born in New Bedford, Ma. visited Niagra Falls USA and Canada.

For those who don’t know, the USA – Canada border runs right through the Falls.
If you do travel there be sure to go to the Canadian side for your stay.
They have superior viewing and facilities. There is a honky-tonk sort of downtown area with tons of souvenir/gift shops as well as restaurants and motels aplenty.

We traveled across Ontario to Quebec and here in the old city we had a great time.
It was hot despite the latitude.

We had been here before so we knew what we wanted to do to some extent.

Best of all for me is the old city up high where you can meet people from all over the world.

During a brief rest on a park bench I spoke with a gentleman who worked for the United Nations in Africa bringing water to poor villages and training them in agricultural methods.

We camped all but one night and found that  the KOA campgrounds are pretty reliable.

The motorcycle held up well.
The Honda Goldwing is well known for reliability and it’s  just about the best long distance cruising bike made.

The trailer allowed us to carry things that you just couldn’t pack on the back of a motorcycle.
Two weeks on the road … we like our luxuries.

We found WIFI at the KOA campgrounds and others as well.
I was happy to have my laptop and be able to keep in touch with facebook etc.
Hui-Ling used the laptop to do a Skype type of video call to China.

We took advantage of the video camera on the laptop and we walked around the campground showing off the tent and campground to people watching 12,000 miles away.
That’s all for now. More to come.
