TAX FILING USUALLY BY THE 15th OF APRIL

To file taxes for the year , you have to file on or before the 15th of APRIL.

These dates change when the tax due date changes each year.
It usually is April 15 but sometimes is changed because weekend days land on April 15.

AN EXAMPLE

Is that it was April 15, 2015.
April 15 falls on a Saturday in 2017 and on a Sunday in 2018, so beware, those tax filing date days will change!

There are penalties of up to 25% of tax due if you file after the due date including the extensions.

TWO MONTH TAX FILING EXPENSION

Usually the extensions are for 2 months - to June 15, 2015 for 2014 taxes and to June 15, 2016 for 2015 taxes.

The limit is 6 months, so for 2014 tax filing in 2015, it lands on October 15, 2015. 2015 tax late filing may change because October 15 is a Saturday.

There might be an exception if you live out of the country.
